DOCAN’s advanced engineering consultancy services offer something different to those of similar companies. Many consultancies you will work with are application or simulation specialists since they resell software for large software houses, so they are experts with Ansys, Abaqus, or others, but not necessarily experts in engineering.
In 2024, DOCAN became completely independent with respect to software.
What this means for our clients
We are primarily engineers and designers, and use engineering tools expertly with the aim of engineering a solution to the problem at hand.
Equally, we’re not fixed to using one brand. We use the right tool for the right problem, and if a simple assessment is all that is needed, that is all we shall do. We use an extensive range of engineering software from industry-leading brands because we think it’s important to use cutting-edge tools that help us to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
Another new piece of technology brought into our core tools is Femap with Nastran. Below is a trivial example, but with Femap, this means we can use, open, modify, post-process and export to many codes and systems for our clients.
Nastran is significantly used in aerospace, automotive and nuclear industries, and is especially useful when efficient linear analysis is required, and when load cases run into many thousands. We have experience in these areas as well.
Femap works with Ansys, Abaqus, LS Dyna, Nastran (all flavours), Adina (and STAAD), and many more commercial codes.
