Modelling Hydrogen Fuel Cell Efficiency
At DOCAN Ltd Engineering Consultants, our Chemical and Process Engineering team applies advanced modelling to assess the efficiency of hydrogen fuel cells. These cells generate electricity and steam through the reaction of hydrogen with oxygen over a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM), producing water vapour as a byproduct.
Our modelling covers a range of temperatures and pressures to optimise energy conversion, ensuring maximum electrical output and overall system efficiency. By simulating these operating conditions, we can quantify the conversion from thermal to electrical energy and identify opportunities to improve performance.
Looking ahead to 2026, we have several exciting projects where this hydrogen fuel cell modelling capability will play a key role in driving innovation and ensuring robust, efficient designs.
