At DOCAN we do a significant amount of design for our clients, but in reality, there are more systems, equipment, plants, and kit getting older and older. How do you ensure it is still safe to use?

This is particularly important in regulated industries, and damage assessments, engineering criticality assessments or fitness for service assessments are the industry standard for confirming this.

Identifying and resolving corrosion

DOCAN has a significant amount of experience in both design and life extension. In the below example, our client had significant corrosion within their most critical piece of equipment. The corrosion spots were interacting, and could not be considered by simple methods. Our approach – we model and account for the important physics to hand, and use a combination of methods to make sure we have confidence in the final result safe, unsafe, derate, uprate, modify, repair, scrap, decom).
